Proud to call Illinois home, Paul A. Coghlan completed the entirety of his education in his home state before eventually launching his own law firm in 2003. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 1986, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. During his time at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, he was concurrently enrolled in the Institute of Aviation’s Commercial Pilot program where he earned an FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate along with Instrument and Multi-Engine ratings and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force as a military aviator. He served on active duty in the UI.S. Military, and then also in the military reserves while attending DePaul University College of Law. He obtained his Juris Doctor in 1991 and immediately began his career in law after admission to the Illinois Bar in November of 1991.

A First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force, Paul Coghlan was honorably discharged in 1994 after serving on both active and reserve duty.
